The Arcadian Wild
at the Acadiana Center for the Arts
The Spirit of the Performance Nashville-based ensemble The Arcadian Wild brought their intricate and heartfelt acoustic sound to the stage, proving exactly why they are one of the most original voices in today’s folk scene. Led by songwriters Isaac Horn and Lincoln Mick, the group delivered a masterclass in "modern string band" music, blending progressive folk, bluegrass, and choral harmonies. Their performance was centered around the themes of their latest album, Welcome—an invitation to the audience to share in something deep and communal. Without a drummer, the band relied on "rhythmic propulsion," treating their instruments like a drum kit to create a sound that felt both expertly crafted and entirely natural.
